Hi, I'm Philece!

I'm a licensed family childcare provider, wife, mom, softball manager, photographer, plant lover, bookworm, and lowrider enthusiast. Born and raised in Rialto, California, I attended California Baptist University, where I completed my child development coursework while working toward a career in social work.

Like many parents, life had other plans.

While working full-time and attending school full-time, my daughter was in daycare. Every afternoon, I'd pick her up wondering how her day had really been. Was she crying because she was tired? Hungry? Scared? Simply unhappy? As a mom, not knowing how my child spent most of her day was one of the hardest feelings I've ever experienced.

That's when everything changed.

I realized I didn't just want someone to watch my child—I wanted someone to care for her the way I would. If I couldn't find that feeling of comfort, maybe I could create it for other families.

With the support of my husband, we took every step necessary to open Grounded Family Daycare, and it has been one of the greatest blessings of our lives.

One of the things I'm most proud of is that our daycare has never felt like a business. Many of the children who started with us years ago have grown up alongside our own children. We've celebrated birthdays, first days of school, graduations, milestones, and everything in between. Watching these children grow into confident, respectful young people has been the greatest reward.

At Grounded Family Daycare, we believe in growing our family—not just our business.

It truly takes a village to raise children, and we take that responsibility seriously. While our approach may be a little more old school than many modern childcare programs, it's rooted in love, consistency, accountability, and respect. We believe children thrive when they understand kindness, responsibility, honesty, and independence.

Yes, we teach our ABCs and 123s—but we also teach children to clean up after themselves, respect others, solve problems, be accountable for their choices, and become confident little humans who are prepared for life beyond the classroom.

Our goal isn't just to prepare children for kindergarten.

Our goal is to help raise good people.

And around here...every child is treated like family.
